NFI Certified Technicians
The National Fireplace Institute (NFI) is the hearth industry’s independent certification program. To be certified, a technician has to pass the NFI Core Knowledge exam and at least one fuel-specific exam covering codes, clearances, venting, and safe installation. Technicians renew every three years through re-testing or continuing education.

Panhandle Stove and Spa is a full-service hearth and spa company based at 705 N Main St in Moscow, Idaho. Inspections done right: top to bottom
An inspection isn’t worth much if half the system goes unseen. On every inspection we do everything we can to get on the roof, safely and whenever conditions allow, and look the whole system over from the cap down to the firebox. We check the cap, crown, flashing, chimney exterior, liner, connections, clearances, and the appliance itself.
Many of the chimneys we see haven’t been properly maintained in years. We write down everything we find, take photos, and explain it in plain language. You’ll know what needs attention now, what can wait, and what’s in good shape. If you’ve just bought a home or have a new stove, the inspection also gives you a good baseline for the years ahead.
